William Julié, a member of the defence team for Captain Paul Watson, who is currently being prosecuted in Japan and faces extradition from Denmark on the basis of an INTERPOL Red Notice, took part in the press conference organised on 16 October 2024 alongside his other lawyers and Lamya Essemlali, President of Sea Shepherd France, to present the legal and political stakes of this case to journalists from all over the world. His speech was an opportunity to highlight the political motivation underlying this case, both in Japan and Denmark. He called on their national authorities, as well as international organisations such as INTERPOL and the European Union, to take the necessary steps to redress the injustice done to Paul Watson.
