Interpol’s red notice for Paul Watson has been suspended, his lawyer confirms

Maître Julié was invited to comment in the newspaper “Libération” on the suspension of the INTERPOL Red Notice issued by Japan against Paul Watson. He explained that the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files (CCF) had granted the request submitted by the firm seeking the suspension of the notice, pending a final decision on its withdrawal. The notice presents a significant lack of factual evidence and appears to have been issued for political reasons. Maître Julié nevertheless recalled that this suspension is only temporary, pending the CCF’s final decision, expected in June, which will definitively rule on the notice’s compliance with INTERPOL’s rules.
