For the fourth time, Payl Watson’s detention has been extended by the Greenlandic judge, despite the presentation of evidence formally demonstrating his innocence and the vacuity of the Japanese case.
While Paul Watson should be protected and congratulated for his actions, he is being pursued and persecuted even on European soil, in the form of the pending extradition proceedings and an Interpol red notice. In this respect, his defense team will be taking his case to the European Court of Human Rights regarding the conditions under which his detention hearings are taking place in Denmark, a member of the Council of Europe. The UN, and in particular its Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, will also be seized of his situation.
Paul Watson’s defense team today calls on the institutions of the European Union and its member states, including France, to react and take a stand.
