Three suspects appear before the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague

On 24/9/2020, Kosovo Specialist Prosecutor’s Office arrested his first suspect, Salih MUSTAFA, former KLA leader, pursuant to an arrest warrant, transfer order and confirmed indictment issued by a pre-trial judge of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers. 

He was transferred to The Hague and his Initial Appearance took place on 28 September 2020.

The indictment charges Salih Mustafa of individual criminal responsibility for Arbitrary Detention, Cruel Treatment, Torture and Murder, war crimes under international law.

On 25 September 2020 Kosovo Specialist Prosecutor’s Office arrested a second suspect, Hysni Gucati. 

He was transferred to The Hague and his Initial Appearance took place on the 1st of October 2020.

An arrest warrant was issued against him for offences against the administration of justice, namely intimidation of witnesses, retaliation and violation of secrecy of proceedings.

The same day, a third suspect, Nasim HARADINAJ, was arrested in Kosovo by the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office, pursuant to an arrest warrant and transfer order issued by a judge of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers. 

The European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) and the Kosovo Police (KP) provided operational support. 

He was transferred to The Hague and his Initial Appearance took place on 29 September 2020.

The arrest warrant was issued for offences against the administration of justice, namely intimidation of witnesses, retaliation and violation of secrecy of proceedings.
