Maître William Julié was invited on France 24 alongside his client, Paul Watson, to discuss the decision of the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files (CCF) to suspend the Red Notice issued by Japan against him.
He pointed out the lack of factual evidence and the numerous inconsistencies characterizing Japan’s case and highlighted how these elements reflect the political motivation behind the prosecution of Paul Watson, who has become a global symbol of anti-whaling efforts and environmental protection. He clarified that as per INTERPOL’s constitutional rules, any notice connected to politically motivated proceedings must be removed from its system.
Pending the final decision of the CCF, expected in June, Maître Julié expressed confidence in a favorable outcome of the proceedings and in the removal of the Red Notice issued against his client.
