Following the publication of the article ‘La police confirme les financements russes d’Alexandre Benalla’ by the newspaper Médiapart, naming Mr Farkhad Akhmedov, a client of the Firm, as ‘an oligarch with a whiff of sulphur’ and ‘close to Vladimir Putin’, Mr Akhmedov exercised his right of reply.
Mr Akhmedov firmly contests these allegations, and emphasises that he currently has no particular links with the Russian Federation or its President, a fact recognised by the Council of the European Union, which removed his name from the EU sanctions list in September 2023.
