The ECBA outlines several issues in European extradition law such as the lack of effective access to SIS and INTERPOL’s systems and of mutual recognition of decisions on surrender or extradition. In practice, it means that a person who has won their extradition case in a Member State still cannot travel within the EU without fearing to be repeatedly arrested in the other Member States. In the face of this problem, William JULIÉ and the other members of the ECBA call for the Member States to give effect to the principles of mutual trust and mutual recognition, the right to liberty, and right to freedom of movement within the EU.
